Our Story
John and Nicola first met in a cocktail bar over 30 years ago, where they discovered a shared passion for travel, food, and quality spirits.
Drawn to the beauty of the South West, they relocated to Dulverton in 2006. Today, they are proud to call Exmoor home and are deeply connected to the local community.
In December 2017, they founded Exmoor Distillery. Since then, they have developed a range of high-quality spirits, including gin, rum, and vodka.
John brings a background in engineering and a practical, hands-on approach to distilling. Nicola leads the business with a focus on efficiency and growth.
Together, they have built Exmoor Distillery into a respected and award-winning brand, recognised both nationally and internationally for its authentic artisan spirits.

Exmoor Distillery started producing gin initially in 2017, with a aim to produce other high quality spirits in good time. John’s desire to explore the nuances of distillation led Exmoor Distillery to expand the repertoire to include a range of spirits, from exquisite British rum to meticulously crafted vodka.
